In addition, they must have been presented an appearance assessment by VDH-recognized breeding judges at two breeding shows with at least the form value “very good” (1 x youth class and 1 x intermediate or open class or 2 x intermediate and / or open class). Furthermore, each of the breeding animals must demonstrate a behavioral assessment III and a licensing with the result “passed”, whereby these must come from two different Körmeisters.

Only when the Hovawart has fulfilled all of the above criteria can the BREEDING APPROVAL be applied for and granted via the HZD.

When choosing the right stud dog, of course, I also accept long distances and try to come close to my self-set goal of being healthy, typical and beautiful Hovawarte.

I go out of my way to raise the puppies. The best possible and extensive coinage is the most important thing.

The puppies are born in the house and will live in our living room with their mother and Frieda and the cat Mietzi for the first 3-4 weeks. When they get more enterprising, they move to the kitchen with direct access to the garden. There is a versatile dog adventure playground available to them. During this time we try to get the little ones used to many different everyday situations. A lot of visits from big and small people, as well as first trips together with their mother in the car, always give the puppies new impressions and shape life in the later families.

The breed warden will visit her for the first time within the first 5 days after the birth. The breeder, the kennel, the mother bitch and the puppies are checked by a HZD breed warden.

All puppies are examined by a veterinarian when they are around seven weeks old. The little ones are vaccinated for the first time, they are given their personal microchip (so that they can be identified again and again) and blood is drawn from all puppies. This is stored in the DNA blood database for Hovawarte at the University of Kassel.

After the veterinary care, the breeding warden comes a second time.

A comprehensive litter acceptance protocol is created for each individual puppy,

every puppy owner together with the international vaccination certificate when collecting his

little Hovawarts.

Only when this litter acceptance report is without any objections will the pedigrees be used

the puppy handed over to the breeder. The breeder passes the pedigrees on to the new owners. This ensures that puppy buyers are fully informed when they pick up their four-legged family member.

Every proud new Hovawart owner gets a little puppy primer from me with lots of tips on raising, further shaping and feeding his little one.

The puppies are handed over when they are at least eight weeks old. At this point, puppies are not house trained, need a lot of love and support, and cannot and must not be left alone for hours.

"One year of work and many years of joy" - that is my motto. A GOOD dog school with puppy play offers and subsequent training courses should definitely be attended.

Only those who invest a lot of time, love and consistency in a dog will get a great, well-behaved companion whom you can rely on and who can accompany you everywhere.

Please remember that the Hovawart is a recognized utility dog ​​with a wide range of uses. An adult dog needs long daily walks, social contact with other four-legged friends and likes to have a "job" as a companion, guard, protection, rescue, therapy and tracking dog, for which he is excellently suited.
